Visumatic's Viper Robot Automated Screw Driving Assembly Cell is a Fixed Robotics System that is ideal for limited floor space. This machine is only 30 inches front and side and has an ergonomic one button 11 inch height adjustment. It can handle a vast number of preprogrammed combinations and drives screws fast!
This rotary index servo assembly machine is ergonomically efficient with a compact design. It feeds and drives a hex head bolt with patch lock, to a torque of 22 ft/lbs. Once the part is loaded in the machine, the cycle is initiated by swiping a biomechanical sensor. Bolts are then driven in a programmed pattern similar to the method used to install a wheel on a car. This eliminates imbalance while supplying maximum joint control to the finished product. The angled touch-screen makes operator interface both convenient and comfortable. The machine has mechanical guarding throughout and a light curtain in the load/unload area for user safety. A programmable driver motor installs each bolt to a discrete torque and angle, ensuring a precision assembly.Service and usability is enhanced by a slide-out feeder tray. During operation, the feeder is contained within the frame of the machine saving valuable floor space.

Visumatic's VPM Power Module is designed for incorporation into a Robotic or Linear presentation system to bit--stroke screws into part. A Power Module fits when you need the fastener bit-stroked into the part without moving the nosepiece, dependent on the machine for motion. You present the part to the nosepiece, or mount the head on your positioner to achieve the desired Z-axis positioning of the nosepiece to the driving location.

Visumatic develops complete, "plug -n-work" X-Y robots with Visumatic VPM-X.2 Power Modules - single stations designed to automate your assembly line. Your part is simply presented to the nosepieces and screws are stroked into the part.
The system shown, designed and built by Visumatic, uses two 2,000mm x 1,800mm X-Y robots that work in concert with each other to install 36 screws into a plastic cabinet with extremely tight clearances. The system, once initially loaded, works non-stop. Once cassettes are loaded; both robots begin assembling one part, then the other while ejecting the completed part. The operator unloads the completed part and reloads. By the time the reloaded part is in place, the robot completes the second part, moves back over and the process is repeated. Each robot is capable of assembling either side independently.
