IEC 60309 pin and sleeve plugs and sockets — also known as CEE plugs and sockets — are replacing standard NEMA-type plugs as a cornerstone of modern industrial and data center systems thanks to their standardization, interoperability and durability in demanding environments. Altech’s family of 60A IEC 60309 Series II-certified and UL 1682-compliant plugs and sockets checks all of the boxes that today’s power-hungry data center equipment require, combining security and reliability with an extensive set of features. The series is characterized by its rugged polyamide 6 housing. Not only is this material highly impact-resistant, but it also resists the carbonization that otherwise causes conductive paths and provides the wiring devices with exceptional anti-tracking properties. Plugs

The plugs come with a patented strain relief and self-adjusting seal to fit any cable diameter, preventing damage and moisture ingress; a holding nose with shark design to lock the hinged cover in place; and conductive yet durable solid brass pins with optional nickel plating. The locking rung and rubber gasket are IP67 rated to prevent water and dust incursion.

Sockets

The sockets feature a captive cable gland nut that stays in place and allows for easier assembly; a spring-loaded hinged lid with locking ring and rubber gasket; a multi-ramp, twist lock system for tool-free mounting; and a keyway to allow easy plug key insertion.

Screw terminals

Altech screw terminals are clearly marked for easy identification and wiring. They come with multi-slot screws for slotted and Phillips screwdrivers; a patented locking system for tool-free mounting; and a double-screw clamp ground pin.
