High-Precision 3D Optical Scanner
Featured Product from Marposs Corp
Optocloud S is an advanced optical measurement system that integrates multiple laser profilometers, a high-precision rotary axis, and an optimized optical architecture to perform complete 360° inspection of parts without repositioning.
In a single measuring cycle, the system captures millions of data points from multiple angles, reconstructing the full 3D geometry of the component in less than 30 seconds. This allows for the simultaneous evaluation of dozens of characteristics, even on complex or highly structured parts.
The optical configuration is tailored around specific part families, maximizing measurement range and accuracy while maintaining flexibility across different models—without the need for costly setup changes.
Built for industrial environments, Optocloud S ensures exceptional robustness, long-term stability, and repeatability. It is suitable for both in-line and off-line quality control applications.
The system supports manual loading as well as full robotic automation. In automated environments, measurement results can be transmitted directly to the customer’s network to support SPC, process optimization, and part rework strategies—enabling closed-loop quality control and seamless Industry 4.0 integration.
Key Benefits
- Drastically reduces inspection time in in-line processes by offloading slower systems such as tactile gauges and flexible contact measurement machines
-
Eliminates multiple dedicated gauging tools, reducing overall equipment cost and valuable floor space
-
Removes operator influence from measurements, ensuring consistent and repeatable results
-
Enables reliable measurement of complex and delicate features that are difficult or impossible to inspect with tactile systems, including soft surfaces, wound coils, hairpins, and laminated materials
-
Reduces dependency on CMMs and laboratory equipment by bringing advanced metrology directly to the production floor
-
Minimizes the need for highly skilled operators through automated acquisition and measurement programs
Typical Applications
Optocloud S is particularly suitable for:
-
Die-cast parts (housings, brackets, covers)
-
Laminated, stamped, or formed components (rotor and stator core packs, bent parts)
-
Mechanical components (nuts, rings, and similar parts)
-
Assemblies (wound stators, rotors for industrial motors)
-
Orthopedic components, aerospace parts, and other precision applications
