Film Compensated Super Twisted Nematic (FSTN) Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Modules
Description
Film Compensated Super Twisted Nematic (FSTN) Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Modules are high-end display technologies that provide excellent contrast and a good viewing angle. They produce black characters on a white background, making them suitable for clear and sharp display requirements .
Working Principle
FSTN LCD modules work by incorporating a retardation film to a Super Twisted Nematic (STN) display. This film compensates for the birefringence effect inherent in STN displays, which typically results in color distortions. By adding a film with opposite birefringence, FSTN displays achieve a black and white display with higher contrast and wider viewing angles compared to standard STN and Twisted Nematic (TN) displays . This makes them particularly useful in applications where display clarity and readability from various angles are crucial.
