In a pinch, can you use nickels (coins) to braze?
The white flux meant for bronze brazing will work in a pinch, but that alloy melts at a hotter temperature which is why nickel- silver (what it's called) rods often have a blue flux coating , which is a slightly different composition.

i also got stay silver white brazing flux . i didnt notice until i got home that it said brazing damn the things … … not once again, i will still use it. ill just stop using the flux coated brazing rods . they suck.
