I know that solar panels can provide the power to keep electric fences working, just don't know why something similar can't be devised to keep water open. .... I used to use 500 watt electric heaters to keep some water tubs open for my livestock but there isn't electricity where my tanks are now and I haven't been able to find anything of that wattage that is solar.
