DC Power Connectors Information
DC power connectors are electrical connectors that provide direct current (DC) power to a connected device. DC power connectors are most often used for electronic power supply applications. They are often used with cable assemblies to provide power to electronic equipment and devices.
Applications
The primary function of a DC power connector is to make or provide an electrical connection between a power supply and the device. The connector can be in a plug (male) or jack (female) form. The connector can be mounted to a cable end, panel, SMD/SMT, or through hole and have a mounting angle of right, horizontal, or vertical. The number of connections or pins can vary from connector to connector and range from two to six or more.
Features
In general, a plug is attached to a cable that is connected to a power supply and a jack attached to a computer board to provide power to the components of the board. Features of DC power connectors include:
- waterproof
- threaded housing connection
