Understanding Mobile Human-Computer Interaction

This chapter focuses on how to analyse the data you have collected as part of your mobile HCI research study. All the statistical techniques covered in the chapter are explained by using specific mobile HCI examples. You may find it strange that you have to work through the formulas for each of the tests, given the ready availability of a number of commercial statistical software packages. However, I think that by going through the examples like this, you will have a better understanding of what tests you should use in relation to the research methods that you have chosen. At the end of this chapter is a list of references for further and more in-depth coverage of statistical techniques that you can use as part of your research methodology.
