The Foundations of Digital Signal Processing: Theory, Algorithms and Hardware Design

Yes, this chapter has probably seemed like a long haul, especially if this was one of your first exposures to programming. Hopefully, we progressed in a logical manner, and you did not notice that the ascent was gradually getting steeper. As we said at the start, the approach we have adopted was pragmatic rather than theoretical, but that need not overly concern us. After all, DSP is an applied discipline, and has no meaning in a purely abstract context. With that it mind, let us move on and see how our new-found programming skills can be harnessed in a simple yet elegant manner to analyse the performance of some electronic linear systems.
