There is a large range of approaches to developing business models. Some business models are produced that only deliver a high-level view of the situation while others delve into a considerable amount of detail. Sometimes the high-level view is suffi-cient, especially for the purposes of initial concept filtering or decision making, but usually, in the end, the business model needs to be expressed in some detail, at which point the business model might be further developed until it actually becomes a programme action plan and then eventually a project or budget. Thus the high-level model is the starting point of the full planning process.
