Security for Mobility

This part contains three papers addressing security issues for major applications of mobile systems. Both Chapter 14, Secure mobile commerce and Chapter 15, Securing the delivery of digital content over the Internet, are concerned with applications of mobile technology. M-commerce is an already widely discussed application domain, and one with enormous practical potential. However, for this to become a practical reality, the security issues considered in Chapter 14 need to be addressed.
Another major application domain for mobile technology is the delivery of digital content. Again, for this to become a commercial reality means that security issues associated with content protection need to be addressed - this is the topic of Chapter 15. The third chapter, Chapter 16, also relates to security issues for the delivery of proprietary content over mobile channels, and questions some of the prevailing views about how this might be achieved. This is certainly an area where a consensus about the 'correct' approach is yet to emerge.
