Controlled perception
Result of reflection on an externally initiated (extrinsic) perception event that has been artificially evoked. (cf. page 14)
controlled quality assessment
The extrinsically initiated process of comparing the entirety of the perceived features of an observed, representative entity in terms of its suitability to fulfil all the individual's and/or group's expectations of features. The result of this comparative process is the quality assessment. (cf. page 14)
desired composition*
Totality of features of individual expectations and/or relevant demands and/or social requirements. (cf. page 16)
feature
Recognizable and nameable characteristic of an entity. (cf. page 16)
measurand
Feature of an object to be measured which can numerically be described in the course of the measuring process. (cf. page 61)
measuring
The entirety of all the activities in the measurement chain up to determining the value of a dimension. (cf. page 63)
measuring process
A measuring process is an observing, assessing or instrumental process, a calculating, statistical estimating process, or a combination of the above. What is determined is an assessment, observation, an instrumental measurement, calculation or a combination of these. Depending on which kind of measuring process is used, the result of the measurement is termed an assessed, observed, instrumentally registered, calculated or statistically estimated result.
