- Access
- The ability to use an information system resource.
- Access control (ACL)
- Granting or withholding service, or access, to a resource by a requestor based on the identity of the administrator making the request.
- Access control list
- A list that counts the rights of administrators (for example, users and groups of users) to access resources. Used in file systems to denote lists that are maintained by file systems and defines user and group permissions for file and directory accesses.
- Access control mechanism
- A security safeguard designed to detect and deny unauthorized access, as well as permit authorized access, in an information system.
- Access fairness
- A process by which nodes are guaranteed access to Fibre Channel arbitrated loops independently of other node activities.
- Access method
- The way to access a transmission medium to transmit data.

- Host bus adapter, logical unit number, route through host-storage interconnect, controller, and logical unit used by a computer communicating with storage devices.
