2.1 NFPA 251/ASTM E119 Fire Testing

2.1.1 General: NFPA 251

is virtually identical to ASTM E119 and UL 263, and defines testing criteria used to rate various fire resistant assemblies. Assemblies are tested in a furnace that is brought up in temperature according to the Standard Time-Temperature (STT) Curve. The points on this curve that determine its character are:
