14.1 The Premium SMS-MO Number Business

Today everyone's heard of or participated in SMS voting games on TV, in which the viewer casts an "instant" vote for or against a person or situation. In such a case, the viewer sends a premium SMS, which is much more expensive than a person-to-person SMS. The normal SMS-MO price is charged by the visited mobile operator, and a special additional charge is shared between the mobile operator, the content provider, and eventually a third-party SMS interworking network operator, which may also act an intermediate and redistribute this revenue to the content providers.
