Telecommunications Cabling Installation, Second Edition

Codes address the safety of persons, property, and the environment associated with the telecommunications cabling installation. They include electrical codes, building codes, fire codes, environmental codes, and all other safety codes. When adopted by AHJs, codes have the force of law.

There is a movement within the government of Mexico to adopt the NEC as their national code.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA ) develops and produces codes relating to telecommunications that include the NEC. The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) publishes the CEC.
NFPA is an international organization with members from 70 countries. Established over 100 years ago, the NFPA develops and produces fire safety codes used throughout the world. The following fire codes relate to telecommunications:

ANSI/NFPA-71, Central Station Signaling Systems
ANSI/NFPA-72, National Fire Alarm Code
ANSI/NFPA-75, Protection of Electronic Computer Data Processing Equipment

The NFPA sponsors, controls, and publishes the NEC within...
