Performance

	Spanning Distance		The spanning distance is how far the transmitter and receiver can be separated and properly function.  The transmitter and receiver must be able to function reliably within this minimum to maximum range of separation. Using mirrors reduces the operating range up to 25% per mirror. (Example: 6 inches to18 feet.)
	Search Logic:		User may specify either, both, or neither of the limits in a "From - To" range; when both are specified, matching products will cover entire range. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
	Protection Height		The dimension of the active sensing field (correlates to the number of beams required).
	Search Logic:		All matching products will have a value greater than or equal to the specified value.
	Sensitivity or Resolution		The smallest sized object that will be positively detected by the light curtain.
	Search Logic:		All matching products will have a value less than or equal to the specified value.
	Response Time		Maximum time between actuation of sensing function and the output relays.
	Search Logic:		All matching products will have a value less than or equal to the specified value.
	Operating Temperature		This is the full required range of ambient operating temperature.

	Basic Object Detection Size		Finger and Hand detection is necessary when the operator is a short distance away from the hazardous zone. Body (or arm detection) is suitable for perimeter guarding.

	Safety Category Type

	Type 2		Runs a self-check when it is turned on or reset. The safety function shall be checked at machine start up and periodically by the machine control system. If a fault is detected, safe status shall be initiated or if that is not possible, a warning shall be given. The occurrence of a fault between checking functions can lead to a loss of the safety function between checking intervals.
	Type 3		More than one component must fail before it loses functionality. A single fault in any of the system parts does not lead to a loss of the safety function. Some but not all faults will be detected. An accumulation of undetected faults can lead to a loss of the safety function.
	Type 4		Continuously self-check and will detect any loss of function immediately. A single fault does not lead to a loss of the safety function. The faults will be detected in time to prevent the loss of the safety function.

	Blanking or Banking		Disables one or more fixed locations within the sensing field. The safety light curtain can be programmed so that a variable number of light beams are 'blanked' or 'masked' to allow an object to extend through the field without affecting the machinery's operation.
	Explosion Proof Enclosure
	Floating Beam		Allows the disabling of beams at any location in the sensing field. The safety light curtain can be programmed to produce an intentionally disabled light beam that can move up and down ("float") in order to allow the feeding of an object through the curtain without causing a trip or latch condition.
	Integral Fault or Equipment Status LCD		Transmitter or Receiver has Integral LCD for fault or equipment status.
	Integral Alignment Status LEDs		Transmitter or Receiver has Integral LED's for light beam alignment status during initial equipment setup.
	Latching Safety Relays (Guard Mode)		Once the sensing field of the curtain has been penetrated and a stop signal sent to the guarded machine, light curtain will not remove the stop signal until the controls are manually reset outside the protected area. Causes a Lockout Condition. This requires a manual reset after each penetration into the guarded zone.
	Multiple Openings Protection		Light curtain can be configured to protect more than one opening (whole cell protection). Light curtain used for guarding machinery with access to the hazardous zone from more than one side or for perimeter guarding.
	Muting		Muting is the temporary, automatically controlled, deactivation of a safeguarding device during the non-hazardous portion of the machine cycle. Allows complete bypass or disabling of the sensing filed or stop signal to the machine during the non-hazardous portion of the cycle.
	Self-checking Circuitry
