Busch Vacuum Solutions mass spectrometer leak detectors are ideal for testing the tightness of vacuum systems or individual vacuum components and for locating possible leaks and quantifying their leakage rate. The two new leak detectors; TAPIR HL 1102 A and 2216 A, operate with helium or hydrogen as a tracer gas and can detect leaks as low as 5E-12 mbar L/S for helium depending on the test method and test product capability.
In a fuel cell, a hydrogen and oxygen produces electricity, heat and water as a by-product. A fuel cell consists of two electrodes, an anode and a cathode. A membrane separates them and is responsible for the ion transport.
Hydrogen is supplied on the anode side, oxygen on the cathode side. The hydrogen molecules are split into protons and electrons. The hydrogen protons diffuse through the membrane to the cathode, where they react with the oxygen to form water, thereby releasing energy. It is important that oxygen does not diffuse into the hydrogen loop to prevent explosive conditions. Therefore, hydrogen is injected in a higher quantity. This excess hydrogen shall not be released to the atmosphere because of legal regulations and efficiency reasons. The solution is to recirculate it back to the system inlet.

Dolphin LMs are single-stage vacuum pumps for rough vacuum applications from atmospheric pressure to 100 Torr ultimate pressure. Dolphin LTs are two-stage vacuum pumps and operate from atmospheric pressure to 25 Torr. The Dolphin LM / LT series is available in a total of 13 sizes, allowing an exact match to every process.The operating fluid is usually water, but other liquids may be used if required by process conditions. Dolphin LM / LT liquid ring vacuum pumps may be operated as a simple continuous flow system, or as a partial or total recirculation system.
The pumped medium is trapped between the cylinder and screw chambers, compressed, and transported to the gas outlet.
During the compression process the screw rotors do not come in contact with each other or the cylinder.
Thus, no lubricants or operating fluids are required in the compression chamber.
