Laminated Shims SPIROL produces precision shims with or without a tool to meet lead-time and total cost considerations. Shims are thin pieces of material often used as compensators to fill in small gaps between objects aligning parts, reducing wear and absorbing tolerances between mating components. Shims can also significantly reduce manufacturing time and costs as they eliminate the need for each component to be precision machined in order to achieve the proper fit and function of the total assembly... THE ADVANTAGES OF USING EDGE BONDED SHIMS Precision Shims are used as compensators to absorb tolerances between mating components. They significantly reduce manufacturing costs by eliminating the need for each component to be precision machined in order to achieve the proper fit and function of the total assembly. During the assembly process, Shims provide adjustment to compensate for accumulated tolerances that significantly reduces the need for re-machining and assembly time. Additionally, Shims are commonly used to preserve... (read more)Browse Shims and Shim Stock Datasheets for SPIROL -

Acrylic Foam Tapes are Superior to Fasteners waste. Tapes, especially when die-cut, create minimal waste while the adhesive is confined to the bonding area. * Extra equipment is needed to dispense liquids and can be difficult to maintain over time. Mechanical Fasteners. * Foamed acrylic tapes absorb energy and stress, eliminating the possibility of weak points unlike rivets and fasteners. * Over time, rivets and fasteners will rust after being exposed to moisture, and sunlight. * Virbrational fatigue can be compensated for by using acrylic...
