Design Chapter Structure
The structure used in each design chapter is:
Introduction
An overview of the main issues facing the task of designing the particular technical infrastructure service. The scope and goals of the chapter are summarized.
Technology Review
A review of the Windows NT related technology relevant to the service under design.
Its purpose is to provide the non-expert reader with sufficient technical background to be able to gain benefit from the following Technical Infrastructure Service Design section of the chapter. It is also intended as a refresher for those with more experience of the technology. It is not intended to be a reference text on the technology and as such will not provide an exhaustive coverage.
In many cases the concepts behind the infrastructure service described in a design chapter will be apparent from the technical review section, however an introduction to the basic concepts of most of the technical infrastructure service is provided in the chapter Elements of a Technical Infrastructure.
