Section 3: Focusing on Recruitment

Introduction

Recruitment is the part of the process which starts with deciding if there is a vacancy to be filled and ends with receiving applications. It involves:

  1. Deciding if there is a vacancy to be filled

  2. Writing a job description

  3. Writing a person specification

  4. Deciding on the selection process

  5. Attracting applicants

  6. Managing the response.

In this section, we look at each of these steps. As you work through the section you need to put the context of the section within the policies and procedures of your own organization.
