Dimension Elements

A dimension is normally made up of two extension lines, a dimension line and a measurement number. A shaft that is one inch in diameter and three inches long is dimensioned in Fig. 5-1. Figure 5-2 is the same as Figure 5-1 except fractions have been converted to decimals and names have been added to the elements of the dimension.
