Enemy Surveillance

Surveillance or long-term monitoring of the enemy can be carried out with high-definition spy satellites, long-range early warning and communications (AWACS) aircraft, or dedicated high-altitude U-2 type reconnaissance aircraft. Enemy activity can be tracked with film or video cameras sensitive to natural light or infrared. Radar mapping can be carried out at night or through fog and haze that would defeat conventional photography.
