GPS Applications

GPS applications are systems or devices that use positioning information to provide specific services or benefits to the user. Some key GPS applications include mapping, location monitoring, agriculture control, navigation, navigation warfare (NAVWAR), surveying and structural deformation monitoring.

Because the GPS system has higher accuracy and much faster position updating than other location systems, it can be used to enhance or enable new applications. For example, continuously measuring position, this allows GPS receivers to determine their velocity.
