Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Handbook

Recommendations

The study recommends the following.

  1. Emphasis should be given to scheduling and motivational areas to improve wrench time.

  2. A continuing in-house study of observations only 1 day each week should be conducted to give ongoing feedback on wrench time and to acclimate persons to being measured.

  3. Future observation data should be structured to be additive as well as separate from previous observations to allow reduced margins of error to be developed in the analysis of specific groupings such as for supervisors, crafts, and special events.
