API
is an applications programming interface. APIs enable programmers to work in parallel to a common interface or to use tested and released product libraries.
CCI
is the Intel XScale core component interface. In the Intel Internet Exchange Architecture (Intel IXA) software framework, management and exception code blocks reside on the Intel XScale core and are called core components. The portable API for these is the CCI.
CSR
is a control status register. This hardware register is used to control hardware behavior. It holds hardware configuration parameters and other states.
Console function
is a function available for calling on the transactor command line by the C interpreter. The function can be defined interactively, in a script file, or by a foreign model through the transactor console function registration interface.
Context
is a hardware-supported execution thread of a single microengine. Contexts are numbered from 0 through 7 for microengine version 2 (MEv2).
Defer shadow
is the dead cycles that may occur in a microengine following a branch taken or context swap.
Developer Workbench
is the graphics user interface framework for the Intel IXA toolkit.
DLL
is Dynamic Link Library. This separately compiled program is linked in at run time with the main program.
DRAM
is dynamic random access memory. DRAM is cheaper than SRAM, but DRAM access time (latency) is more than twice that of SRAM. In IXP2XXX network processors, DRAM is typically used to hold packet data, and SRAM is used to...
