10.11: SUMMARY

10.11 SUMMARY

In this chapter we have discussed some of the more traditional methods of leakage management and location. We have also detailed some methodologies such as tracer gas testing and testing by radar, which have not to the authors knowledge been widely publicized. The intent of this chapter is to give some guidance as to possible methods of intervention against leakage, in particular underground, nonvisible leakage. There may be other methods which should be given consideration, and obviously each situation merits a careful analysis of the options before commitment is made to one methodology or group of methodologies. However, if we don t intervene, the leakage situation will only worsen!

Note: Various manufacturers of equipment and consultants were mentioned during the course of the narrative. It is not the intention of the author, the publisher, or any other associated person or body to promote the use of one technology or company over another.
