Most engineers know that a Rotary solenoid is a cost-effective solution for simple on/off rotational movement, delivering high torque over a relatively short angle with a response time within a few milliseconds.

Where rotary solenoids fall short is their controllability. This is where an innovative idea by Geeplus engineers has produced a significant advancement in rotary solenoids. With the incorporation of an external housing and resourceful, rising-rate spring arrangement, this once simple on/off rotary solenoid now generates rotation semi-proportional to the current applied.

While the proportional control of this rotary solenoid isn’t as precise as say a proportional solenoid or voice coil actuator, this solenoid could be used in any number of applications, such as controlling flow in both air and liquid valves as well as applications where noise reduction is ideal.

This 3 ball rotary solenoid is available in a range of sizes from 19mm up to 87mm, and offers a force up to 13Nm
