The SDHmini hand held hygrometer is designed for quick and reliable spot check measurements of trace moisture in gases and compressed air. Suitable for a wide range of industries including power generation, semi-conductor manufacture and pharmaceuticals.

As with all the SHAW dewpoint meters, the SDHmini range of hygrometers utilise the SHAW ultra high capacitance aluminium oxide sensor. Proven over many years, this sensor is fast responding, reliable, highly accurate and has an overall range of -100 °C to +20 °C dewpoint.

A key feature of the SDHmini is the desiccant head assembly. The unique design of the head assembly keeps the sensor dry between tests, to ensure the instrument is always ready to carry out rapid spot checks. This is achieved by surrounding the sensor with desiccant before the head is lifted for sampling. At no time is the sensor allowed to come into contact with ambient air because the desiccant and sensor are always isolated. This unique feature allows the operator to achieve a meaningful reading in 5 – 10 minutes.

Another key feature of the SDHmini is the AutoCal function. The SHAW sensor can be exposed to any atmosphere which is wetter than the operating range of the dewpoint sensor by raising the desiccant head and performing the AutoCal feature on the instrument, usually, room air is sufficient. The dewpoint sensor is now set up with the instrument and ready to use.

AutoCal allows users to ensure accuracy between laboratory calibrations by checking the span of the hygrometer and correcting for any deviation. It can be carried out in-situ and without the need for any special equipment. This useful feature reduces downtime, minimizes calibration costs, gives immediate verification of the dewpoint system and allows users to ensure optimum measurement accuracy between annual laboratory calibrations.

The SDHmini hand held hygrometer is durable and robust, incorporating a large colour graphics LCD display, which shows two units of measurement simultaneously. For example, a primary display can be set in °C and secondary in ppm or the display can be set to show an atmospheric dewpoint and corresponding pressure dewpoint reading.

The intuitive menu system allows simple operation of the instrument and can be viewed in 10 different languages. The instrument has real time graphing, screen shot features and selectable engineering units: °C dewpoint, °F dewpoint, ppm(v), ppm(w), g/m3 and lb/MMSCF.

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides over 150 hours of continuous operation on a full charge and the instrument is charged via USB or a plug type to suit your geographical location.

The logging and intrinsically safe models include advanced data logging with download to PC capability, Bluetooth connectivity and printing. A compatible Bluetooth printer is available.

The intrinsically safe model, SDHmini-Ex, is suitable for use in hazardous environments and is certified to ATEX, IECEx and UL standards.

All SDHmini instruments are supplied with an anti-static carry case and include a pressure calculator, instruction manual, PTFE sample hose and stainless steel inlet and outlet fittings, which can be supplied to meet customer requirements.

The SDHmini range of instruments is compatible with the SDH-PSS, a portable sample system designed specifically for this range of hand held hygrometers. Manufactured in the UK, the SDHmini Portable Sample System is designed for ideal sampling conditions of trace moisture measurement, ensuring the sample pressure and flow are suitable for quick and accurate dew point measurement in gases and dry compressed air. Easy to install, with an effortless docking arrangement and simple set up process, the SDH-PSS is fully configurable and includes a flow indicator, optional filter and optional pressure regulator.
