Description
Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps that move gases, liquids, or gas-liquid mixtures through a reciprocating diaphragm. Working Principle
Diaphragm pumps operate using a flexible membrane connected to a shaft. This membrane creates a separation between compressed air and the fluid being pumped. A motor connected to a cam alternately pushes and pulls the membrane. The inward motion of the diaphragm creates a vacuum that draws in the fluid, while the outward motion discharges it. Larger models are used for moving heavy sludge and debris-filled wastes from trenches and catch basins, while smaller models are ideal for chemical metering or dosing applications requiring precise liquid delivery.
