Photocopier and printer toners

Office supplies are kept in a cupboard in a part of the office not normally accessible to clients.

Generally substances are only used in very small quantities for short periods presenting no significant risk.

If the spray adhesive is used for more than a couple of minutes, a nearby window is opened which provides adequate ventilation.

The photocopier is used in well-ventilated areas and there are no noticeable ozone smells, even on long copying runs.

Provide disposable gloves for cleaning significant spillages of photocopier or printer toner.

Window and glass cleaner

The cleaner's cupboard is kept locked except when substances are being removed.

Suitable gloves are provided (and worn) for handling the irritant and corrosive substances in concentrated form.

The cleaner is aware of the risks of mixing bleach with other substances, e.g. the acid descaler.

Investigate replacing the thick bleach by a more dilute solution.
