The AU client is the piece of code responsible for understanding each client setting,communicating with the WSUS server on a scheduled basis, and ultimately keeping your client up todate. Each supported Microsoft OS ships with its own version of the AU client; however, in order towork properly with WSUS it needs to be updated to the latest version. This is done when the clientmachine first contacts your WSUS server.
