3.3 Visual Studio.NET Varieties

Visual Studio.NET is available in four versions:

1. Professional

2. Enterprise Developer

3. Enterprise Architect

4. Academic

All versions contain the development environment; one or more languages, such as Visual Basic, C++, and C#; and tools to support building and developing for the SQL Server desktop engine. Enterprise Developer and Architect have additional support for the full version of SQL Server, Oracle, SourceSafe, and other .NET Enterprise Server products. Enterprise Architect also includes Visio design tools. The Academic product is the same specification as Visual Studio Professional, but includes some help and solution examples tailored for academia.
