Description

Assigns a value to an ECMAScript variable. The name of the variable is specified by the name attribute, the ECMAScript expression in the expr attribute is evaluated and assigned to that variable.

The variable could be a dialog item variable (defined by the name attribute of etc.), or a variable declared by . The variable must be declared before being used and must be in scope. A variable from an outer scope can be referenced by using scopename.varname, where scopename is application, document or dialog. This is required in the case where the variable in the outer scope has been obscured by a variable of the same name, is optional otherwise.
