Introduction
This is a book about LabVIEW power, LabVIEW programming. Perhaps you are reading this before you purchase this copy, perhaps not. In any event, power is a word bandied about a great deal these days. What does it mean? If you see a book on Power Dressing (in the business section, not cooking section), what do you expect? I would expect to see a book that exposes the subtleties of costume explained/exposed and just what effect each element or style will likely have on the others. From such a book you would expect to learn how to dress to preload others into expecting you to appear as a marketing expert, university professor, entertainer, klutz, or what have you. Not only would such a book tell you how to achieve an effect, it is also a catalogue of the effects that are available. In short, it is an advanced instruction book about a social tool. The book you are reading will analogously provide you with advanced instruction in the use of a technical tool: LabVIEW. There is a risk inherent in most power books: they describe the tool effectively but don?t describe what you can do. You can be ?all dressed up with nowhere to go.?
This chapter will tell you where to go (in the most positive sense!).
