Network Cabling Handbook

All construction and communication projects are planned. The first phase of a project is the planning stage. Planning must always be done before construction begins on a project. The planning stage will enable project drawings and specifications to be developed. The project construction will follow the instruction and specification defined in the project drawings. This chapter will describe the planning and design process for the construction industry and define the specifications for communication cabling systems.
Plans and designs are produced by the architect. An architect is the lead design professional for a construction project. The architect is hired by the building owner and is responsible for managing all phases of a construction project and project designs.
A plan is a graphical or pictorial representation of the project. A plan usually includes the overall view of the project.
