Supportability Engineering Handbook: Implementation, Measurement, and Management

This appendix provides a generic statement of work for performance of supportability engineering activities on an acquisition program. The contents of this appendix must be tailored appropriately for use on an actual project.
Continued implementation of supportability engineering analyses commenced by the Contractor prior to Contract Award shall be reported on as updates on information already provided to the Customer.
Design that is the same as that for the original purchaser contract.
Design that is completely different from that for the original purchaser contract.
Design that is a modification of that for the original purchaser contract.
Where the Contractor's proposed design for the Project X Program consists of Existing Design where a Sub-Contractor is performing Supportability Engineering, or has performed Supportability Engineering, on the Existing Design for the Original User, the Contractor shall implement a Management process to assure that the Project X Program requirements will be achieved regardless of changes to the Original user's requirements which may occur after Project X contract award. This Management process shall be to the level of detail necessary to provide the Customer with complete visibility and monitoring of Sub-Contractor Supportability Engineering activities.
