Your choices are... | |||
BMA | BMA series connectors provide a high integrity push-on interface, capable of withstanding both radial and axial misalignment.
BNC | Bayonet Neil-Concelman (BNC) connectors were designed for military applications, but are used widely in video and RF applications to 2 GHz. BNC connectors use a slotted outer conductor and a plastic dielectric that causes increasing losses at higher frequencies. BNC connectors are usable above 4 GHz as long as the slots radiate signals; however, these devices may not be mechanically stable to 10 GHz. Both 50Ω and 75Ω BNC connectors are available. BNC connectors are also known as Bayonet Navy Connectors or Baby Neil Connectors.
Type C | Type C connectors are medium-size, weatherproof devices with a two-stud bayonet coupling. They provide constant 50Ω impedance and may be used with 75Ω cable below 300 MHz.
Type F | Type F connectors have screw type coupling with a frequency range up to 1.5GHz used for CATV, TV, antennas and other similar applications.
FME | Used for mobile antenna applications and can be adapted for UHF, Mini-UHF, TNC, BNC, and Type N connector interfaces using adapters.
Type G | Type G connectors are 75 O impedance connectors that feature a snap-on coupling and are ideal for CATV applications.
MCX | MCX connectors are sub miniature coaxial connectors with very good electrical performance used to address the rapid implementation of the U.S. digital cellular PCN infrastructure, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and instrumentation and Wireless LAN Systems.
MHV | MHV connectors are compact, 50-ohm impedance, high-voltage connectors with two-stud bayonet coupling. MHV connectors are similar in size to, but are not intermateable with, BNC connectors.
MMCX | MMCX connectors provide a more robust interface for greater durability; this series is ideal for high volume wireless SMT or PCMCIA applications in cellular base stations, cellular phones and personal communicators, global positioning systems (GPS) and wireless LAN (WLAN) applications.
Type N | The Type N connectors are designed to be hand tightened for ease of use. There construction includes an integrated gasket to seal out the environment and an air gap between center and outer conductor. They primarily have a 50-Ohm impedance, but there are 75-Ohm versions for CATV.
QMA | The QMA connector is a quick disconnect version of the SMA connector and shares the same internal construction, which allows the connector to have excellent performance.
SC | Subscription channel (SC) connectors are coaxial, medium-size devices with constant 50Ω impedance and a frequency range of 0 - 11 GHz. They are larger than BNC connectors, but about the same size as Type N devices.
SMA | The SMA (Subminiature A) connector was designed by Bendix Scintilla Corporation and Omni-Spectra Corporation as the OSM connector, and is one of the most commonly used RF / microwave connectors. It is intended for use on semi-rigid cables and in components that are connected infrequently. It takes the cable dielectric directly to the interface without air gaps. A standard SMA connector is designed for interconnects to 12.4 GHz. Fortunately, a good SMA is useable to 18 GHz in most cables, and if well constructed with greater loss and lower return loss to 24 GHz.
SMB | Subminiature-N (SMB) connectors are snap-mount connectors that are available either in 50Ù or 75Ù impedances. They are used for frequencies from DC to 4GHz.
SMC | The SMC (Sub-Miniature C) is a 50Ω or 75Ω connector that is smaller than the SMA. The connector can accept flexible cables with diameters of up to 3.17 mm (0.125 in.) for a frequency range of up to 7-10 GHz.
SSMA | Sub-SMA (SSMA) are miniaturized SMA connectors that are 30% smaller than standard SMA connectors.
SSMB | Sub-SMA (SSMB) is a small version of the SMB connector, about 70% size. SSMB connectors are micro miniature connectors that offer frequency performance in the smallest packages available. Ideal for board-to-board applications, these connectors are also designed for semi rigid cable.
SMP | The SMP (Subminiature P) connector is rated to 40 GHz, and depending on detent type, it can withstand from 100 to 1,000 interconnect cycles.
TNC | TNC connectors are of miniature size like the BNC connector but feature a threaded coupling nut for applications requiring performance through 11 GHz. Chosen for their durability and reliability, TNC connectors are widely used in the cellular / mobile communication industry for equipment cabling and antenna interfaces.
Triax | Triax connectors are used with triaxial cables where maximum RF shielding and minimum noise radiation is required.
Twinax | Twinax connectors are used with twinaxial cables for balanced low level and high sensitivity circuits. Twinax connectors feature polarized key and keyway construction as well as threaded coupling.
UHF / PL259 | UHF connectors are economical and all purpose connectors. They are designed with a non-constant impedance for use at comparatively low voltage and low frequency applications including all C.B. communications systems such as: Public address systems, CCTV, civil defense, landing systems, ground control apparatus, ship to shore communications and mobile radio equipment hookups between antenna and transmitter or receiver. PL259 is a screw on video connector, now largely replaced by the BNC type.
Mini-UHF | Mini-UHF connectors are a miniature version of the original UHF connector and feature a threaded coupling mechanism for reliable mating. The mini-UHF connector is designed for use in cellular mobile telephone systems where size, weight and cost are critical. Featuring crimp cable termination for low installation costs, these connectors provide excellent RF performance in applications through 2.5 GHz.
1.6 / 5.6 | 1.6 / 5.6 connectors are mechanically sturdy devices that feature a coupling mechanism. They are often used with equipment that requires resistance against environmental and mechanical stress. 1.6 / 5.6 connectors are also suitable for handling RF analog and digital signals in telecommunications systems.
7-16 | 7-16 connectors are designed for use in medium to high power communication systems. These connectors perform exceptionally well in multichannel cellular systems where power levels approximate 100 watts per channel. Designed for both flexible as well as corrugated cables, these connectors are used in a variety of cellular base station and broadcast communication applications.
1.0 / 2.3 | 1.0 / 2.3 coaxial connectors are designed for telecommunications systems that require sub-miniature 50Ω slide-on or screw-on connectors.
1.85 mm | 1.85 mm connectors are metric devices that derive their name from the length of the inside diameter of their outer conductor. They are used for frequencies from DC to 65 GHz.
2.4 mm | 2.4 mm connectors are metric devices that derive their name from the length of the inside diameter of their outer conductor. They are used for frequencies from DC to 50 GHz.
2.92 mm | 2.92 mm connectors are metric devices that derive their name from the inside diameter of their outer conductor. They mate with SMA and 3.5 mm connectors and provide mode-free performance to 40 GHz.
3.5 mm | RF and microwave connector with an inside diameter of the outer conductor of 3.5 mm. This connector is rated to operated at a frequency up to 34 GHz.
7 mm | Also known as APC-7 (Amphenol Precision Connector - 7mm) are RF and microwave connectors with an inside diameter of the outer conductor of 7 mm. The APC-7 offers the lowest reflection coefficient and most repeatable measurement of all 18 GHz connectors. Development of this connector was a joint effort between Hewlett Packard and Amphenol that began in the early 1960s.
