LOW SPARKLE NON-GLARE GLASS PROVIDES UNIFORM DIFFUSE REFLECTION

“Sparkle” occurs when non-glare glass is used with a display and has a surface where the etch pattern size and roughness has variation resulting in inconsistent, insufficient, or unpredictable light diffusion effects in select areas of the glass. An observer sees this variation projected through the glass as artifacts of distorted pixel color, shape, pinpoint light leaks, or points of reflection that are not sufficiently or correctly diffused which were not present in the display itself. These artifacts are referred to as “Sparkle” and affect perceived display resolution and image quality.

Low Sparkle Non-Glare (NG) Glass provides sharp rendering of images with increased clarity for easily readable devices in direct sunlight. The reduced glare afforded by the diffusion of reflected light makes it ideal for interactive flat panel and touch displays, tablets, e-readers, and digital signage. It is key to understand that not all non-glare glass performs the same even with similar gloss levels.

Our Low Sparkle Non-Glare (NG) Glass is produced using a high tech etch process resulting in a fine, well controlled, and consistent micro etch roughness. When applied to our colorless low iron soda lime float glass the process produces a consistent “Low Sparkle” non-glare performance with low haze, optimal contrast, paper-like tactile feel, and true color rendering.
