The Superdew 3 is a single channel, inline hygrometer suitable for continuous trace moisture measurement of process gases and dry compressed air. Ideal for a wide range of applications where precise measurement, control and monitoring is required.

All SHAW dewpoint meters and hygrometers utilise the SHAW ultra high capacitance aluminium oxide sensor. Proven over many years, this sensor is accurate, reliable, fast responding and covers an overall range of -100 °C to +20 °C dewpoint. Choose from the various available dewpoint ranges. An isolated 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA analogue output is supplied as standard and the span of the output is configurable across the range of the sensor.

Superdew 3 incorporates the unique AutoCal function by Shaw Moisture Meters. The SHAW dewpoint sensor can be exposed to ambient conditions, wetter than its operating range and by using the AutoCal function, the dewpoint sensor can be brought back in to equilibrium. The dewpoint sensor is then set up with the instrument and ready to use.

AutoCal allows users to ensure accuracy between laboratory calibrations by checking the span of the hygrometer and correcting for any deviation. It can be carried out in situ and without the need for any special equipment. This useful feature reduces downtime, minimizes calibration costs, gives immediate verification of the dewpoint system and allows users to ensure optimum measurement accuracy between laboratory calibrations.

The panel mount enclosure provides weatherproof protection rated IP54 and the instrument incorporates a four button membrane keypad and can be powered by a switchable 90-250 Volt AC or 24 Volt DC power supply.

The user friendly menu structure is fully configurable from the front panel and the trace moisture value is displayed on a backlit, five digit LED display, any one of four selectable engineering units is available: ppm(v), °C dewpoint, °F dewpoint and lb/MMSCF.

Two alarm relays are included, which are fully programmable and can be set independently across the full operating range of the sensor. Trip point, direction of trigger relay enable status, latching status and hysteresis can be set within this option. These alarms have visual indication (LEDs) and activate changeover relays for remote indication or control. The set points can be viewed and adjusted using the hotkeys on the front panel keypad.

The Superdew 3 also includes RS485 capabilities, allowing the user to set the Superdew 3 address and communication baud rate used when the Superdew 3 is communicating with a PC using RS485 point-to-point communications. The instrument can output the process variable and unit status when polled.

The system is designed to operate continuously with a minimum amount of operator input and the Superdew 3 can be sited up to 1,000 metres away from the sensor if required. For hazardous area installations, the sensor can be located in the hazardous area with the Superdew 3 instrument and signal isolator located in the safe area.

Various compatible sample systems are available to assist with sampling. The SU4, SD3-Exd and SWS-SD3 sample systems are compatible with the Superdew 3 inline trace moisture analyzer.

To ensure that you have all of the equipment required for trace moisture measurement, the Superdew 3 is supplied as a kit, consisting of a Superdew 3 hygrometer, a SHAW moisture sensor, a sensor holder and two metres of cable.
