Process Equipment and System Integration Services Information

Process equipment and system integration services provide modular systems and components used to process fluids, oil, gases, sea water and powders. This product area includes process skids, distillation equipment, evaporators, desalination systems, secondary recovery systems, chemical injection systems, and solvent recovery systems. There are many applications for process equipment and system integration services. Products can be used to process alcohols, organics, fine chemicals, cosmetics, mineral oils, plastics, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, solvents, volatile organic compounds (VOC) or wastewater. Modular systems and components may be rated for cryogenic service, food and beverage applications, gas recovery, liquid recycling, oil refining, research and development, semiconductor manufacturing, or pollution abatement. Some suppliers of process equipment and system integration services also provide services such as design assistance, installation, commissioning, inspection, repair, preventative maintenance and training.

Types of Process Equipment

There are many different types of process equipment. Blenders are driven by a motor and mix ingredients together. Combustion equipment burns fuel to produce heat, chemicals, and gases. Condensation systems change substances from a gaseous to a liquid or solid state. Crystallizers cool liquids or evaporate solvents to form solid crystals of solute form. Distillers apply and remove heat in order to separate a liquid or vapor mixture into component fractions of desired purity. Dryers are used to remove liquids or moisture from bulk solids, powders, parts, continuous sheets or other liquids by evaporation or sublimation. Evaporators remove a liquid from a solution, suspension or emulsion by boiling off part of the liquid. Filtration and extraction equipment use a crystalline, porous structure to adsorb or reject molecules based on differences in size or shape. Injection and metering equipment permits manual adjustment of fluid flow though a valve. Melters use heat to change solids into liquids. Milling equipment includes milling lines, granulation systems, and powder forming systems. Reactors and fermenters are also available. Other types of process equipment and system integration services are also available.

Suppliers

Suppliers of process equipment and system integration services sell modular systems and individual components for laboratory, Pitot, and production scale applications. Components include columns, process controllers, heaters, heat exchangers, mixers, pipes, pressure vessels, pumps, separators, tanks and valves. Clean-in-place equipment can be cleaned without disassembling components or subsystems. Low-pressure devices provide a relatively fine vacuum. Some process equipment and process systems are designed to be operated atop a skid or trailer. Others are floor-mounted or designed to sit atop a laboratory bench. There are three scales for process equipment and system integration services. Laboratory or benchtop scale devices are designed to be operated by one person. Pitot scale systems are suitable for small-scale production processes that are used to develop full-scale operations. Production scale or industrial scale systems are designed for commercial use.
