TABLE OF CONTENTS If information is correctly reengineered using the IIS21001 Knowledge Reengineering Standard, that information results in the total analysis time being reduced without increasing the information value dilution rate because the conceptual content remains the same.
For example, an 8-hour training seminar would be compliant with the IIS21001 Standard if the seminar were reengineered into a 4-hour seminar, if and only if the 4-hour seminar had the same conceptual content as the 8-hour seminar. In other words, a person attending the 4-hour IIS21001 seminar would have to have an understanding of the content equal to that of a person attending the original 8-hour seminar. The IIS21001 standard is typically applied to information, but can be applied to any activity, any technology, or any process.
The IIS21001 Knowledge Reengineering Standard, when applied to information, ensures that the conceptual content of the original information on the left side of the scale shown in Figure 14.1 is equal in terms of content (conceptual value) to the reengineered information on the right-hand side of the scale.
IIS21001 knowledge reengineering is a "significant upgrade" on normal summary methods. The upgrade differences between the two methods are seen in how the information is formed:
