SharePoint Services is a feature in Windows Small Business Server 2003 (SBS) that you may not be familiar with. It s a great addition to the SBS family and a tool you might find indispensable once you become acquainted with the various components and the ease with which you can work with them. SharePoint Services essentially installs a default internal website for your company when you install SBS. The default website has a number of components that make sharing information and collaborating with others easy.
SharePoint Services is a website that has a number of built-in, pre-defined components. Most of the components can be added, removed, modified, or re-arranged to suit your needs. In this chapter, we ll look at the various components and what you can do with them. We ll look at the individual components in the next section in detail.
