Configuring Citrix MetaFrame XP for Windows Including Feature Release 1

The mobile Internet is a trend that is growing. People want to access the Internet from any location, using any device and without needing any wires. Once users are connected to the Internet, it is not a far leap to want to access and run applications.
There are a couple challenges with the mobile Internet. First, wireless communication does not provide an extensive amount of bandwidth. Applications cannot consume much before overwhelming a wireless link. Second, mobile devices do not have much in the way of processing power and memory. Citrix MetaFrame provides a solution that overcomes these limitations. Because applications run on the Citrix MetaFrame server and processing is limited on the ICA client, a rich application environment can be delivered to mobile devices. ICA clients also consume extremely low bandwidth, which works well in a wireless network. This chapter discusses the ways to design a wireless solution powered by Citrix MetaFrame.
