Perky Pets, Incorporated is a manufacturing company that started out as a family business. Joe, the father, had recently retired and taken a vacation trip to Antarctica. During this trip, he became acquainted with several penguins and made the following observations:

1. Penguins are fairly intelligent.

2. Penguins have webbed feet.

3. Penguins cannot fly.

4. Penguins have scale-like, barbless feathers.

5. Penguins have flipper-like wings.

6. Penguins are likeable.

7. Penguins are perky.

"Penguins are adorable!" thought Joe. Whenever he saw one, he wanted to pick it up (a small one) and squeeze it. "What an idea for a product," Joe mused. "Everyone will want one!"

Joe met with his sons and together they formed "Perky Pets, Incorporated."
