Overview
This appendix contains all descriptions of several system services and library functions. Many of these are illustrated elsewhere in this text. Each description is divided into three sections. All but the last section can be found in either:

The first section contains an English explanation of the routine. Next is the generic calling sequence. Optional arguments are enclosed in square brackets. Finally a list of possible error conditions is presented. There are a number of ways to convert a condition value to a code. Since OpenVMS 6.0, the most convenient is

ADJUST WORKING SET LIMIT
The Adjust Working Set Unit service adjusts a process' current working set limit by the specified number of pages and returns the new value to the caller. The working set limit specifies the maximum number of process pages that may be resident in physical memory.
