The Program Management Office: Establishing, Managing and Growing the Value of a PMO

Chapter 1 focused on the processes involved in analyzing the current state of project management in an organization. It also focused on the processes required to develop a base business case that would be delivered to management for review and to obtain authorization to proceed with developing a detailed business case and the detailed plans for implementing the PMO and initiating PMO operations. Chapter 2 will begin with an overview of several important PMO models and key core operational areas of focus for PMOs. The remainder of Chapter 2 will then focus on determining the scope of the PMO and documenting the intended scope in a single scope statement. Determining and documenting the intended scope of the PMO is the first step in the development of a detailed business case.
