MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF MIGRATION: A SUITABLE TOOL FOR THE ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES?

The feasibility of implementing migration modelling software as a means for compliance testing for official food control and in the self-check programmes of Danish plastics-producing plants using materials with specific migration limits was investigated. Progress with the study is discussed and problems experienced in obtaining information on product composition from users and raw material suppliers are highlighted. 13 refs.
