a model used in training programs for giving and soliciting feedback, developed by psychologists Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham. Its four categories are what I know about myself, what I don t know about myself, what others know about me, and what others don t know about me. In the four-square grid, the window pane in which what I know about myself and what others know about me intersect is named the Arena. What I don t know about myself but what others know about me constitutes my Blind Spot. What they don t know about me but what I know about myself comprises my Fa ade. What others don t know about me and what I don t know about myself comprises the Unknown. (The window is sometimes referred to as Joharry s window.)
