Mechanical Desktop 6 ReferencePoint Suite

The drawing view of Mechanical Desktop (MDT) 6 enables you to view the surfaces of 3-D objects. Views or viewports help you to define 3-D objects on a 2-D plane.
You can design a 3-D object in an isometric plane, which enables you to view the surfaces of a graphical object along an angular position. The viewport of MDT enables you to view the designed 3-D objects. You can save the designed viewports by specifying a name to the view.
This ReferencePoint describes how to generate views of designed components in MDT 6. It also explains how to manipulate these components in the viewport of MDT.
Drawing views in MDT enable you to define a graphical object along a Horizontal Plane (HP). The HP, when projected along the vertical axis denotes a Vertical Plane (VP). The plane perpendicular to the VP is the Horizontal Plane.
The projection of a graphical object along the VP is called the front view. The projection of an object along the HP is known as the top view. Projected planes of a graphical object form quadrants, which help view objects along the axis of the planes. Four types of quadrants are:
First: Helps view object placed above HP and in front of VP
Second: Helps view objects placed above HP and behind VP
Third: Helps view objects placed below HP and behind VP
Fourth: Helps view objects placed below HP and in front of VP
